Iris G. Press is pleased to announce the publication of Sonata for Rain by the very talented Rebecca Gonzalez.
Acclaim from the poetry world for Sonata for Rain:
Unique, passionate, magical, intense, Rebecca Gonzalez’s Sonata for Rain sings with fresh, original style. Displaying a feisty yet vulnerable spirit, the musicality of her verses will seduce you. Sonata for Rain has life and breath and is sure to enchant. - Debberae Streett, poet, co-host of Poetry Brew
Rebecca Gonzalez’s poems resonate with the rhythm of a courageous and honest heart, the intensity of her soft voice. Becca’s poems synthesize her talents as a visual artist with the language of her poetry so that her reader moves directly through image to truth. Her artist’s eye observes the peripheral details of life and gives them immense significance. In her own words: “The lilt of a lover’s voice/pollinates the colorful verses that bloom.”
Sonata for Rain is lyrical experience sharpened by the author’s perceptive and powerful vision, leading the reader to revelation. - Carol Clark Williams, Poet Laureate of York
Sonata for Rain is a wrenching journey through the labyrinth of the heart. It is a triumphant evocation of the human spirit. — Jeff Rath, author of The Waiting Room at the End of the World
Rebecca Gonzalez’s long-awaited poetry collection gives its readers moments of reflection and contemplation that are as universal as they are delicate. These gentle poems, some juxtaposed with their original Spanish version, offer sincere pleadings (“Remind me that it is/all worth the sacrifice”) and aching (“I need you/like a breath”) that carry Sonata for Rain right into the heart. — Barbara DeCesare, author of Silent Type and jigsaweyesore
